Parts mistakes usually start with incomplete information: a partial model number, a blurry label, a missing voltage, or an assumption that a similar-looking component must be the same.

Before ordering an OEM HVAC replacement part, run through this checklist. It is written for technicians, service departments, facility teams, and purchasing personnel who need the right part the first time.

Equipment information

  • Manufacturer: Confirm the equipment brand shown on the unit nameplate.
  • Full model number: Include every suffix, dash, and option character.

Confirm what is included

Confirm quantity and urgency

If a site has multiple identical units, determine whether you need one emergency replacement or additional spares. Also provide the required delivery date. This helps separate “correct part” from “correct part that can actually meet the job schedule.”
