Daikin Part Numbers: Applied, McQuay or Daikin AC? How to Tell

We have not found a Daikin document that publishes one key to its part number formats, but in our own Daikin catalog the shape of the number sorts parts into clear groups. Of 802 active Daikin listings on our site (counted October 15, 2026), plain nine-digit numbers such as 668105601 are typically Daikin Applied (McQuay) applied-equipment and chiller parts, while seven-digit numbers such as 4009393 and numbers ending in J are typically Daikin AC, VRV and ductless service parts. The 25 listings under the vendor name Daikin are complete packaged units, listed by model number. Match the full part number to your unit's nameplate before ordering.

Which part number formats appear in our Daikin catalog?

Counts are active listings whose number has the format shown. "Typically" describes the product types and titles those listings carry on our site. It is our catalog data, not a Daikin definition.

Number format Active listings In our Daikin catalog, typically Example

These groups add up to all 802 listings: 777 parts under the vendor name Daikin Applied and 25 units under the vendor name Daikin.

How do I tell a Daikin Applied (McQuay) part from a Daikin AC part?

Start with the length of the number. In our catalog the 777 parts split into three groups, and the first split follows number format:

Our collection Listings Number formats we see in it
Daikin Parts for Daikin Applied 265 Nine-digit numbers, including some K, H, Q, P, GC and 4xxx numbers
Daikin Parts for Daikin Chillers 233 Nine-digit numbers, mostly starting 330 to 336 and 735, including some K-suffix, dashed and 11-digit numbers
Daikin Parts for VRV Units 279 Seven-digit, J-suffix, 2P and 3P numbers, plus two short alphanumerics

The 279 VRV listings match, count for count and type for type, the seven-digit, J, T, P, 2P and 3P numbers plus the two short alphanumerics above. Fifty of their titles say thermistor, and three name unit models directly: 2313966 — Expansion Valve Coil For RXYMQ36PVJU and 4020638 — Blower Motor Replacement For FTXB24AXVJU, with a thermistor for FTXB09/FTXB12 as the third. The valve listings in this group are mostly expansion, motorized, solenoid and four-way valve coils and bodies.

The nine-digit group is mixed. Its titles name MicroTech controls (six titles), water source heat pump boards (two titles use WSHP), Turbocor compressor kits (three titles) and pCO5+ controller boards (three titles), plus motors, blower wheels, filters, gaskets and fasteners. Numbers starting 735 lean chiller (44 of 45 are in our chillers collection), and so do numbers in the 330 to 336 range. Numbers starting 910 lean applied equipment (only 6 of 42 are in our chillers collection). That is a tendency in our listings, not a rule.

McQuay is not a separate number format in our catalog. The same Applied part can carry Daikin Applied, McQuay and Daikin McQuay names. Our guide Daikin Applied, McQuay, and Daikin-McQuay Part Numbers: Same Board, Three Names covers that overlap for control boards.

Do leading zeros and suffixes matter?

Yes. 128 of our 441 nine-digit numbers start with 0, and our listing titles keep the zero, such as 060006101 — Control Board MicroTech II AAH Main. Some web addresses drop the zero, so you may see 60006101 in a link and 060006101 on the part. Search both forms.

Suffixes and near-matches are separate listings. 056792404 — Mark IV AC Control Board and 056792401K — Mark IV DC Control Board differ in the last digits and the K. For the AC board's LED codes, see McQuay Mark IV Heat Pump Board LEDs: What Yellow, Green and Red Mean. 062218301 — Blower Wheel Plastic Pl 6 Inch D X 8 Inch W X .5 Inch B and 62218301K — 6" Diameter 7.8" Wide 1/2" Bore Wheel have different titles and different dimensions, so do not treat them as the same part. Likewise P112156601 — Shim Alum is a P-prefix listing, not a variation of a plain nine-digit number.

What does the nameplate show?

This is our practical advice, not a Daikin rule. The unit nameplate is more reliable than the part number for deciding which family you have:

Nameplate or equipment type Likely group in our catalog Typical number format
Water source heat pump or fan coil with a MicroTech controller, or other Applied equipment Daikin Applied (McQuay) applied equipment Nine digits, such as 250803500 — Thermostat Fan Coil Bacnet
Chiller Daikin Applied chillers Nine digits, such as 331660622 — Control Board Pco5+ Low Speed Large and 735073629 — Gasket O-Ring .139Thk X 1.734 ID Buna
VRV or ductless model such as RXYMQ36PVJU or FTXB24AXVJU Daikin AC, VRV and ductless Seven digits or J suffix, such as 6024018 — Thermistor Assembly (M1, M2) and 065336J — Capacity Setting Adaptor
Light commercial packaged unit with a D-series model such as DFG0603DH00001S Complete units, vendor Daikin Model number, not a part number

If a part number and the nameplate point to different groups, trust the nameplate and the full number on the old part, and ask us before ordering. Part numbers are sometimes superseded; see HVAC Part Number Supersessions: What They Mean and How to Avoid Ordering the Wrong Part.

Scope: This article describes the Daikin listings in our own catalog: 777 active products with vendor Daikin Applied and 25 with vendor Daikin, counted October 15, 2026, grouped by the format of the part number in each title, with the product type and title each listing carries on our site. It is not a Daikin definition, counts change as listings are added or retired, product types are our catalog's labels, and the example products are listed by live title, not as a fit confirmation for your unit.

Before you order

Read the model and serial number from the unit's nameplate and the full part number from the old part, including any leading zero and suffix. Our guide How to Find the Correct HVAC Replacement Part Using the Model and Serial Number covers the nameplate details. For more on the Applied range, see Daikin Applied Replacement Parts: OEM Parts for Chillers, Air Handlers & Commercial HVAC and, for a fault on a water source heat pump, Daikin Water Source Heat Pump MicroTech III LED Codes: What Each Light Means. Frequently Asked Questions

What does a nine-digit Daikin part number mean?

We have not found a Daikin key to part number formats. In our Daikin catalog, plain nine-digit numbers (441 listings) are typically Daikin Applied (McQuay) applied-equipment and chiller parts, including MicroTech boards, motors, gaskets and sensors. Use the full number and match it to your model and serial number.

Are seven-digit Daikin part numbers for VRV or ductless units?

In our catalog, yes, typically. The 233 seven-digit listings, together with the J-suffix, 2P and 3P numbers, line up with our 279-listing VRV collection. The largest types are control boards (69), sensors (49), valves (33) and motors (24). Some titles name models such as RXYMQ36PVJU and FTXB24AXVJU.

Is a McQuay part number different from a Daikin Applied part number?

In our catalog, no. The same Applied number can be listed under Daikin Applied, McQuay and Daikin McQuay names. See our guide on the three names for control boards.

Does the leading zero matter in a Daikin part number?

Yes. 128 of our 441 nine-digit numbers start with 0, and the listing titles keep it. A number with the zero dropped, or with a K or H added, can be a separate listing with a different title, so search both forms and check the title against your part.
