BAC's public PartsMap shows component names and diagram positions, not part numbers, so you find the number by starting from the unit's serial number and model on the nameplate. Match the component to its PartsMap position, then confirm the number with your local BAC representative or with us before you order.
What BAC's PartsMap shows and what it leaves out
BAC publishes PartsMap PDFs for several product lines. The Series 3000 combined PartsMap (file name Series3000_Combined_PartsMap_20220405) names each component and shows where it sits in the assembly. It lists items such as the make-up valve assembly, the float ball and the strainer hood. It does not print part numbers. It also tells the reader to have the unit serial number ready, and it states that "BAC Factory Authorized Parts can be ordered through your local BAC Representative."
That makes the PartsMap a vocabulary and a picture, not a catalog. It tells you what the part on your tower is called and where it sits. The number that goes on an order is tied to your unit's serial number and model, which is why BAC asks for the serial first. BAC's RepFinder page is its route to a local representative.
Our own BAC guide says the same thing from the parts side: parts can vary by equipment series, serial number, drive configuration and installed options. Model and serial number together are the starting point for any part.
How to find the part number, step by step
- Read the nameplate. Record the model number and serial number. The PartsMap material we reviewed does not say where the plate sits on every model, so check the unit itself and photograph the plate.
- Open the PartsMap for your product line. The Series 3000 combined file is linked under Sources. BAC publishes separate PartsMaps for other lines, so use the one that matches your unit.
- Find the component by name and position. Write down both the name BAC uses and the position on the drawing. Together they identify the part without a number.
- Read the number off the old part if it is legible. Treat it as a lead to confirm against the serial number, not as proof of fit. Numbers get replaced over time.
- Search the number on our site. The part number leads the title of our BAC listings, for example 311789 — BAC Vibration Switch.
- Use the quote path for quote-only items. If the listing is quote-only, send the serial number and the PartsMap name and position through the request a quote page.
- Contact us if nothing matches. Send the model, serial, PartsMap position and photos of the nameplate and the part.
- Compare the new part to the old one before you install it. Check the physical match, not only the number on the box.
What a BAC part number looks like on our listings
Our BAC listings put the number first in the title, then the BAC description. The formats are not uniform: six-digit numbers such as 311789 and 230718, kit numbers with an RK prefix such as RK240031, and mixed codes such as CK4011M3 and 02KW43. We do not decode the prefixes or digits, because we have no BAC document that defines them.
Some details in the titles help you narrow a search before you send anything. Bearing kit titles carry a style and a bore size. Belt titles carry the belt designation. Heater titles carry kW, voltage and phase, and the pipe thread. These are listing details, not fitment statements. The serial number settles fitment.
Take the bearing kit as a worked example. If the fan shaft bearing is the failed part, you find the bearing in the PartsMap and note its position. On our side, RK240031 — BAC Bearing Kit (PB, Split Sleeve, 1-7/16") tells you the style and bore of that kit. Whether it is the kit for your tower is a question for your serial number, not for the title.
Numbers also change. The product page for 313859 (BAC Thermostat (A19, N4X)) lists 310382 under Replaces, so a search on the older number is worth running. Our article on HVAC part number supersessions covers how to treat a replaced number.
Direct-purchase listings and quote-only listings
BAC items on our site fall into two groups. Some are listed for direct purchase, such as RK240031 and 311789. Others are quote-only, such as 230718 (belt B-85) and 02KW43 (a 2 KW heater), and sit in the Parts Available by Quote collection. See the product page for current availability. For a quote-only item, the serial number and PartsMap position are what let us match the quote to your unit.
If the nameplate is missing or unreadable
Look for the serial number on paperwork that came with the unit, such as the O&M manual, the submittal or the original order records. Photograph the unit, the drive arrangement and the failed part from more than one angle. Send those with whatever you have: a model number, a project name, or the old part number. A local BAC representative can work from the same details.
What to send us
- BAC model number and serial number
- The PartsMap component name and position
- The existing part number, if readable
- A photo of the nameplate and a photo of the part
- One line on what the part does or what failed

Scope: This covers how BAC's Series 3000 PartsMap and our listings work. BAC publishes PartsMaps for other lines too, and we did not review them for this article. Your unit's serial number decides the part in every case.
Before you order
Confirm your unit's exact model and serial number from its nameplate before ordering. Search the BAC part number in our site search, browse everything listed in our Baltimore Aircoil (BAC) parts collection, and read our BAC parts guide. For quote-only items, use the request a quote page. To confirm fit, contact us or email help@totalhvacparts.com with your model and serial number.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does one BAC PartsMap cover every BAC cooling tower?
No. BAC publishes separate PartsMap PDFs for several product lines, including Series 3000, FXV, Series 5000 and TrilliumSeries. The Series 3000 combined file covers that series only, so use the PartsMap that matches your unit's model, then match the component by name and position.
Does the BAC PartsMap list part numbers?
No. The Series 3000 PartsMap lists component names and positions only, and says BAC Factory Authorized Parts can be ordered through your local BAC Representative. Use the serial number and PartsMap position to identify the part, then confirm the number before ordering.
Can I order BAC parts without a rep?
BAC's PartsMap points to its local representatives. We also list BAC OEM parts, some for direct purchase and some by quote. Send the serial number and PartsMap position through the request a quote page and we will help confirm fit.
Where can I find BAC replacement parts near me?
BAC's RepFinder page lists local representatives. The identification steps are the same anywhere: serial number, model and PartsMap position. You can also send those details to us and we will check them against the BAC parts we list.
